Can one of our learned HC members with oil industry knowledge explain why the ex-tax price of LPG is currently higher than petrol.
That is, based on my local Shell station pricing, if you take the GST component away from 48.5c price of LPG ex-tax is about 44c per lt. Petrol, priced at 85.9c less the tax component of 45.5c gives an ex-tax price of just 40.4c per lt.
Seems outrageous for a product which is just a by-product of the petrol refining process.
