Skattie11 - I did the calcs in Excel and agree with your approx. $500m figure. Furthermore, I tested the scenario where production increases by 25% but opex remains static and only get an approx. $700m increase in NPV at 8% discount rate!
Intuitively it could be explained in part by economies of scale if the bulk of operating costs are fixed costs, but that cannot explain an increase in NPV in excess of $700m.
Without the model we cannot be certain what is going on.
But yes, the project is excellent regardless.
