DLE is a great concept, and definitely worth exploring deeper. But it's not proven on mass scale at brine operations. Remember it's main selling point is virtually all brine returned to source. When you remove one chemical from brine, you influence the acidity (greatly). What does this do the environment? We dont have the answers to that, and it will take years worth of research to establish that answer in the EIA. It took LPI 3 years to obtain it's EIA and it's considering DLE as a secondary option. Similar issues with geothermal lithium extraction (VUL), unproven at mass scale. Mass retail hype around DLE and GLE at the moment.

OEM needs producers with proven tech and processes. DLE should be considered as a secondary factor due to it's lack of proof on mass scale in Brine.
