yes Chile seems to be in a state of confusion. The new progressive constitution was rejected by over 60% of the population and President Boric's popularity has fallen to just 32% from 50% when he was elected.
Boric is very socialist left leaning President, who is only about 36 yo. He's a member of the Broad Front, a very left leaning coalition, so I think he would nationalise Lithium in a heartbeat. What's stopping him? Popularity falling and new progressive constitution thrown out? Maybe. Or maybe he has another plan.
Meanwhile Codelco makes a play for the Maricunga.
All of LPI's approvals happened under Pinera, the right wing Govt preceding Boric.
The Judiciary will decide.
