I dont know if you know all the details about LPI but stage 1 is already fully permitted and the recent announcements from the government is that they would respect honour all current contracts and rights.
The only thing that will change with this new lithium policy is stage 2, where LPI previously had a MOU with codelco. LPI may have to partner with the state to get stage 2 operational. who knows if boris will still be in office and the policy may have been rejected or repealed by then.
that being said, it may be beneifical to involve the state in stage 1, and might help fastrack development, assure potential financers, and build a stronger relationship with codelco and help with building shareholder wealth long-term via stage 2
