this data won't help you identify who is buying and who is selling. Broker data tells you which brokers were used in buying/selling. In other words, when you see Merrill Lynch or Citi Bank buying/selling, it doesn't that they are invested in your company. All it means is the the buyer or seller used them as a broker for the transaction.
but what this will help you with is to identify most likely the type of investor. for example, CMC markets and commonwealth would be considered most likely as a retail buyer/seller. On the other hand , Citi bank would most likely be an institutional investor such as our beloved LIND.

Your best way to find out what Lind has sold is the company's Ann. there's 4 anns. On the last page it will give you the date it was sold , the amount of dollars and the quantity of shares.

I did a spreadsheet at the office today to see if they have a trend in their selling patterns or a price range. One thing is clear is that they tend to dump on announcement days. On the 8/9 when we had a great ann , they dumped 18.5million shares at 1.1c, I couldn't cross check because commsec was down for maintenance today but I think that would have been at open.

if you have some time to spare, you can check the total sold by Lind during that period and the dollar amount, then check your broker's data base and see which dollar figure best fits. You will therefore know which broker they use. Most probably they would be using Credit Suisse.

I've noticed one thing on your broker's data, with the exception of Credit Suisse, is that more institutional/sophs investors are net buyers. on the hand , retail brokers such as CMC and Commsec are net sellers. What this means is that your average Joe is bailing out while the Instos and sophs are buying up now that we have de-risked.

If u can post these on a regular bases we can monitor retail vs sophs activity, that would be very helpful. Thanks
