Whatever technical breakthroughs may come does not mean lithium needs are wiped out overnight. The only ones to worry about are mass production/scaling up breakthroughs and even they take a long time to be adopted by the masses. There is nothing foreseeable that will replace a majority of car battery types in the next 5-10 years and so lithium demand should stay strong.
