Tax should never be the predominant decision maker IMO. Just one part of decision to sell or buy.
It is good to limit tax, but the reality is the more tax you pay the wealthier you are LIKELY becoming.
Re investment of profits that are taxed is important because you do not want to have a tax liability and then sitting on losses due to a drop in the value of the asset you re invested in.
That is what is likely occurring in the sector currently.
