This comes down to are you an investor or trader?
An investor does not have an ABN for buy / sell shares.
For CGT the date is the buy / sell date, contract date.
As a trader you dont pay CGT or get discount as any profit or loss is income.
For a trader are they operating cash or accrual accounting is important for EOFY, if cash then they need to sell 28th so the money is in there acct 30th
Its important to get this right so anyone in doubt get professional advice.
I would imagine most here are investors. But if in doubt check with your accountant.
