There is no set amount of time in Australia for a wash sale, there is in the US. It's basically only a wash sale if you sell and buy the same stock for the sole purpose of recognising a capital loss. If you bought for like $1 then sold it for $0.50 then bought again at $0.30 you could always argue it wasn't a wash sale since you figured it was going down further and wanted to buy back in cheaper. There was literally a guy in another stock thread saying he was going to do exactly what a wash sale is to reduce his tax bill and that is what its targeting.
