The value of mined products is likely to be significantly affected by the growing importance of environmentally-friendly mining practices. This is why I believe green lithium, like that produced by Sigma and soon to be produced by Latin, will command a premium over traditional lithium from Australia, which has been slower to adopt zero-carbon and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) mining practices. Furthermore, I think WR1's spodumene (spod) will also be more valuable due to its environmentally-friendly production methods. This is corroborated by Volvo's recent announcement that it will use zero-carbon critical minerals in the batteries and all other parts of its cars, starting from the beginning of the supply chain. It's likely that other automotive companies producing electric vehicles will follow suit, further increasing the demand for green lithium and spodumene.
