I'll answer it. Yes you would get a discount if you held it for a year. However if you exercise it, your 12 month timer starts for those new securities.
And honestly, why are we even talking about Capital Gains Tax Discounts, this applies to all shares. Just go see a financial advisor. I swear I see similar comments and confusion around Call Options in every single explorer.
