I personally rely on broker data to efficiently allocate my capital to hot topics with a 1-6 month investment horizon.I've found broker data very handy as a radar to spot where smart money is concentrated.

Understanding catalysts and fundamentals is important before making trading decisions, of course, but diving into details of every company would be overkill for me.

The fundamentals or outlook might be amazing now, but this doesn't always translate into constantly soaring prices. All the things you mentioned are important, but I believe pro investors who, as a group, are more educated and have access to good research aren't rushing in at this level. The reasons could vary, but one compelling explanation is that it's not worth it at current levels and there are better opportunities elsewhere. They might come back later. This is what I'm trying to track and learn from.

So for me, this data reveals the current sentiment balance between professional and retail investors and I I said above, it's quite mixed. However, better understanding of catalysts might help identify optimal entry points, especially since I missed the earlier opportunity.
