Its the ultimate conspiracy theory to suggest management would be crashing their share price on purpose unless they were actively shorting it in some kind of Enron-esque nefarious scheme which I highly doubt. I think DW is just a straight shooter and is saying "so far we can't get the oil out of the ground, if this keeps happening then we might have to can the whole play but if we can then we might need to look at other techniques for the rest of the wells".
