my apologies, i think that there was a typo error which may have been confusing - i will quote, and correct (in brackets)

"gold mined in australia, will have a lost ( LOTS ) of costs in australian dollars, even though some inputs, no doubt will be in terms of american dollars."

in effect, i am saying that most cost are in australian dollars, but some inputs will be in american dollars - eg cost of american made machinery
