Unless you worked on a dairy farm all you hypothetical prices of share and milk incomes are seriously fleecy.

There is so Many false statement s in this thread and others on and .it's not funny . So many factors in using AI genetics and so many variables.

For a herd of 100 cows you need to get at least 30% females calves for new stock each year (some farms go for less replacem ent/new stock )made with AI very few here would know true statistic of what that really means . To get 30AI heifers from 100 Cowes will take over 200 straws at say a average at $25 probably more, 1st hundred semen straws not all cows get pregnant . Those that do some calves bulls , some die ,some miss carry , some get bitten by snake as young stock etc. It's not cheap excersize and the more cows there are the harder a breeding program is , and synchronizing the herd does not help a bit .


And need to seriously educate there shareholders about farming ,cause there will be many dissapointed ones that are already confused. Many are just saying Bellamy a2 and warnambool cheese and butter and saying that won't make money.

It's a high labour and input operation for any well run farm . There is heaps of information out there on dairy farming . Don't want to scare you it's reality .


There's a reason why supermarket s in Australia dont own farms and cattle , cause they can't screw the farmer if they own the farm! If there just buying the milk or veggies they will makes it hard as possible on the farmer .

Hence buy cheap vegetables from overseas and sell our good stuff overseas.
