Just for personal clarity about my understanding of shorting:

Put simply shorters borrow shares, flood the market, wait for share price drop, buy cheap, return shares, make whoopee.

Mostly done by large instos, who rely on low hanging fruit to panic and sell when share drops. Also able to buy, borrow and sell along the way using their computerised powered algorithms. Really love it when able to use their contacts to predict commodity price declines and gamble on not being short squeezed hoping there is no lithium price rises and positive company announcements.

    Rinse and repeat!

    Have I missed anything?

Is the only way to join their action is to invest with them? Oh that’s right, they’re not interested in my poultry peanuts.

Is the answer to be patient, wait for the short squeeze and try and pick up some peanuts dropped by the instos.
