This allows more sunlight to hit the polysilicon and helps explains why SunDrive’s panels have broken the world record for efficiency, achieving 26.41 per cent in 2022. Plating puts less stress on the wafers than the screen printing process by which silver paste is applied, allowing thinner wafers and even lower costs.
