Tianqi Lithium (002466.SZ) and Ganfeng Lithium (002460.SZ) both expect losses in the first half of the year.

On the evening of July 9, Tianqi Lithium released its performance forecast, turning to losses in the first half of this year, with an estimated loss of 4.88 billion to 5.53 billion yuan, and a net profit of 6.45 billion yuan in the same period last year.

On the same day, Ganfeng Lithium also released its performance forecast, with an estimated loss of 760 million to 1.25 billion yuan in the first half of the year, and the company made a profit of 5.85 billion yuan in the same period last year. Based on this calculation, the two companies' combined maximum loss amounted to 6.78 billion yuan.

In terms of quarters, Tianqi Lithium lost 980 million to 1.63 billion yuan in the second quarter, a significant decrease from the previous quarter. The company lost 3.89 billion yuan in the first quarter; Ganfeng Lithium lost 320 million to 810 million yuan in the second quarter. If non-recurring gains and losses are deducted, Ganfeng Lithium achieved a profit of 50 million to 150 million yuan in the second quarter.
