I think Gina in practice could thwart a scheme she doesn't support. Arguably, she already has, being the $3 ALB scheme. It would have been a waste of time and money for them to proceed.
Important distinction between the 90% test and the 75% for a scheme, is that latter only applies to those who actually vote. Many do not, so an 18-20% 'hostile' stake is a major scheme deterrent.
I strongly suspect Rio wants Liontown, and would have approached Gina, and probably Tim also.
If they do not want to partner with Gina, their only option is to pay up, or look elsewhere.
Having said that, I do not feel we are frustrated by Gina's presence, and I have every confidence the LTR team can build this empire without input from Hancock or Rio.
I really want these long term franked dividends.
