Rio's $9.9 billion all cash takeover deal (90% premium) for Arcadium Lithium, should send a message to Gina.
AGO, share price dropped to as low as 0.9c, Gina bought a substantial stake on market, then made an offer at 4.2c, later on increased to 4.6c and succeeded.
LTR share price dropped from Gina's buy price of around $3/share to as low as 56c, now still substantially lower than her cost base.
If she were making an offer, say $1.80/share (that would be minimum as last CR price, LG conversion price, chairman put $10.8m at $1.80/share), she just need $3.5b cash to fully take over. (AFR reported Gina had $19.9b cash as at 30 June 2023).
It's brave to short at the moment, good luck to 240m shorts.
