Just a theory, given the Shorts are in deep across the Lithium stocks, they either have:

a) a crystal ball on Lithium which is not specific to one company. This is highly unlikely given there are clear market drivers which are operating at a speed faster than discovery and bringing product on line
OR
b) they are going deeeeeeeppp to try and spook the retail holders out of their holdings as they know this sector will explode and they are late to the game and need to get in at whatever cost as they know will be repaid through strong growth on any shared they actually manage to extract.
