Saw this expression on another HC stock this morning which I had never heard of before till now :
“The market can smell the blood of short sellers ……”
But the fact of the matter is that short selling is an important part of the ASX as it provides liquidity for all sort of reasons.
As much as we loathe or detest them they serve an important role. It’s only when shorters are abusing the true value of the stock and thus warping the market perceptions of the stock in question. In other words shorting is acceptable only to a certain point and not beyond the point of abusing. That’s the challenge facing authorities and everyone in general.
