@Goldilocks, Refer Post Post #: 66330003 This embedded post provides conversions, discusses theoretical efficiency and also gives some cost estimates around spodumene cost in batteries etc etc It also provides details of how many EVs you get for 1 tonne of 6% grade spodumene. If you are using a battery size of 100 kWh then probably need to double a lot of the estimates in that post as I was initially working of 50kWh batteries.

I assume the calcs you are dealing with, like what I as dealing with in the embedded post, are for batteries where the anode is graphite (your LFP, NCM and NCA batteries etc). Solid State batteries would double the LCE need as the anode in those batteries is lithium based.

As a general rule you need 0.85 - 0.9 kg LCE per kWh and roughly, and you are correct based on my previous calcs, relating to 7.5 tonnes 6% grade spodumene for each tonne of LCE. So, in effect understating current lithium need in batteries per kWh in the calcs - however if battery efficiency does improve then I do suspect you will move towards 0.6 - 0.7 kg LCE per KWh. The efficiency assumption is a key, so right now would probably be working on 0.85 - 0.9kg LCE per kWh. Again the embedded post above provides some calcs etc

    This pic can help to.

All the best, and as an early mover I can certainly see LTR making a lot of 'hay whilst the sun shines'. Meaning its entry to market is at a time of high prices, meaning good profits and ability to fund expansions through cash flow hopefully. Over time prices will stabilise as more entrants come to market, but those getting into production now will maximise and attain the greatest benefits, assuming costs are contained, including having much less reliance on 'loans' to expand or move to downstream processing. Just need to look at PLS to see what early entry to market means at a time of high prices, noting LTR will be supplying a spodumene product that has higher Li20 content than what PLS sells.

    All IMO
