'They'll be re-used, not recycled'
Batteries of all kinds can only be Charged and Discharged a certain number of times. The number of times depends on most importantly, how far/low they are discharged before being recharged and secondarily, the temperature they reach when they're being recharged. With current technology it would be foolish to buy and use a second-hand battery of any type without knowing it's full history.
