An organisation that plans to have 180,000 Australian kids start their own stand on National Lemonade Day 2016 now has the imprimatur of Lucy Turnbull.
The Prime Minister’s wife has been appointed patron of DICE (Digital, Innovative, Creative and Entrepreneurial) Kids, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes entrepreneurship. DICE will host National Lemonade Day in 2016.
‘We need to nurture in our very young people the belief that everyone and anyone can be an innovator, empowering them to believe that – with skill, passion and hard work – every Australian has a real chance to put their great ideas into action,’ Ms Turnbull said.
While details on the scheme’s implementation are still under wraps, DICE Kids leader Erin Watson-Lynn said that her organisation had secured corporate sponsorship and backing and a partnership with the CSIRO.
‘The future prosperity of our country rests on the innovation potential of our children.’ CSIRO chief executive, Larry Marshall, said.
