This announcement seems to replicate the Hologic or BDI thing.

They are expecting to be able to use the apps/cloud system that Lumos built alongside the readers for real time analysis and sharing of data:

So this could very well be fruitful as the Hologics FFN test.

If they get this to work and Racing Australia requires this to be a standard approach to all thoroughbred pre race or on race meet at all race meets, that is pretty big.

Racing Australia funded $400,000 into this study from a levy charged on every registration of thoroughbred in Australia last year. They could achieve the same outcome by paying for this out of up front levies to trainers and owners on every horse, not just the group 1 horses (your Melbourne cup quality horses), but your country journeyman as well - could be a via registration levy or race entrant fee to have them done.

There are circa 36,000 registered race horses in Australia. There is on average 50 race meets a week. It if is implemented for both horse and jockey safety that this is used, then it could be once a week or every race meet, they need the test.

In a typical week, the Australian horse racing scene includes:
Race Meetings: Approximately 50
Races: Around 370
Horse Starts: Approximately 3,700

If this could result in fees like the FfN test then why have they not released an announcement about this. The last I read about this from LDX was a brief note in a presentation last year iirc that gave this test being developed as an example of the contract work they are doing.
