note to me - please spell check your posts. Sorry - been a long day.

4th anniversary of Black Saturday today.

One of the most cheering things was seeing young Phoenix on the nightly news with his Mum (and, finally, their new house re-built) - after 4 years in a caravan - a lively little lad of four - his Mum went into labor as Kinglake was burning - they miraculously survived - and thus his name.

His story was one of the most encouraging and cheerful events to come from the otherwise unbearable horrors and tragedies of that tragic night - the birth of a baby, a miracle, - amidst all that huge tragedy.

sure makes a change from this parade of self-absorbed, greedy politicians lining up for their gigantic, undeserved golden handshakes, to come to them post September 14th.

Courage and character - bravery and integrity - giving their life for one's fellow man as many did that awful day - in one case, parents burning, themselves, after saving their kids by earlier shooshing them into a dam - kids who then watched their parents trapped, to die in this horror - yes, not many of this ruling rabble would know the meaning of the words.

for there were 173 lives lost - over 2000 homes destroyed - but countless others injured, some permanently, or pschologically traumatised, for life.

we must never forget this day.

WHY no yellow ribbons in rememberance today, in Federal Parliament? This was, after all, the anniversary of Australia's biggest national natural disaster, ever.

Gillard's probably long forgotten - as I say - she only ever thinks of herself, and what's to her own advantage.
