    Have a look at the resource study for Panda Hill Niobium deposit in Tanzania. There is quite a bit of detail about the process that may be useful in your study. For bulk densities in oxide zones they used 2.15t/m3.

    They were extremely positive at the time, note the slide subtitled: "Panda Hill will be the worlds next Niobium mine due to robust economics", however the project hasn't flown for a variety of reasons. There have been ownership and management disputes complicated by the Tanzanian govt imposing a free-carry interest. The deposit seems fairly well studied but the average grade of 0.5% also makes it marginal. Still, some useful info in the attached docs.
