Yep, social license is everything if brown coal is going to be opened up for new developments in Victoria. You can just picture the greenies chaining themselves to the bridge of the ship exporting any brown coal product.
I thought that DICE would be the first technology introduced that would gain brown coal that social license but the first commercial demo won't be operating in the valley until 2018.
The Japanese are dead keen on a LV hydrogen production hub. So if they can get results with the trials on carbon capture then we could see that move ahead sooner than DICE.
As a side note, I thought that the global warming gig would be up by now and that the spell of global cooling we are coming into would have negated any need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. But this years big El Nino will keep the temps from falling for a year or two, then add a year or two after that before widespread acceptance of non-anthrpogenic global warming/cooling.
