nice theory VMK another theory perhaps might be that making a business decision to setup in Rochester New York which is hardly a walk around the block to the software talent pool of Pali Alto or close proximity to all your partners was a bad decision reflective of short term thinking but simply to grab sone income from grants
not sure I can reconcile your statement that Karl and Pete are good at hiring and firing .... if your good at hiring then surely you won't be doing any firing because your good at hiring
what I can believe is staff turnover is probably high and people probably don't work efficiently
