Why would you pay more for leather seats and tinted windows in your new car when the baseline model has seats and windows?
Walmart sells suits - why would you buy one from that Italian shop?

Just because Sharepoint has a bare bones user interface does not change the fact that a very large number of organisations and their employees would benefit significantly from an upgraded and highly customisable intranet environment with a rapidly growing suite off additional components.

What Livetiles offer and what Sharepoint has embedded are not homogenous or even that comparable products...
