A lot seem to be missing the simplest thing.
We can produce a product cheaper than the market at this point in time and achieve equivalent results if not better. No matter the prices Oil and Gas will be drilled for.
So the comments re waiting etc dont seem to hold, if we were looking at a speculative oil field as such it would have a different twist to it.
Dont see the downsides a lot have posted here and in other lwp threads, but we do need partnerships etc to advance. Based on the above I dont think JV partners will hold back. Every company drilling wants to save money on their costs.
