The problem is with the volumes of new shares LYC is in play without any need for a (messy, risky, costly, timely) takeover. The current parties involved are happy with the profit they're getting & cashing in their chips NOW, even at significant discount to SP. The train has left the station so they don't hang around squeezing blood from the stone. Better the devil you know and had sticking around. So a bigger problem arises from the agenda of the new parties involved and their agenda (which could more likley than not not involve a long timeline).
