People seem to think Japan hates WES and will rush in as a white knight to rescue Lynas from this deal. Why would they want to?

ALL the deals between Japan and Lynas would still be in place so nothing loss there.
WES’s finances are much stronger. So if REO prices continue their downward trend it is much less likely that a bail out will be needed next summer when JARE and small remaining MT K deals come due.
WES has the resources to grow Lynas outside of Malaysia much faster than Lynas ever could increasing REO for Japan keeping WW prices lower with bigger supply.

So I see a WIN WIN for Japan Inc. if WESS buys Lynas. Especially if AL and the management team are given long term contracts. Let the board go.

I will make more money if this deal falls through but I doubt anybody is concerned with what the common stock holder makes. Rest assured the board and AL will get sweet deals if this happens regardless if they stay.

I have sold all my stock. If deal fails then I think lower prices will happen and when REO prices recover there will be money to be made.
