You just dont seem to get how it will be perceived internationally. Your government invited Lynas in and it spent millions of dollars there. Its processing material that has an extremely low radioactive content and the waste will all be removed. It will have radiation monitors up just about everyone's rectum. If a future government were to kick Lynas out when there is absolutely no scientific or factual basis for suggesting any health risk, then internationally Malaysia would become a high sovereign risk country and it would be deserted by foreign capital. You cant ask someone in, get them to spend millions of dollars and then ask them to leave without any factual or scientific basis. It would have devastating effects on your economy. You may well be able to survive without the Lamp, but kicking it out without any legitimate basis would mean kicking out all foreign capital as well. You'd probably survive without that as well, but you wont be able to afford your flights to Indo because your currency would become the peso (or perhaps the drachma) of south east asia.
