I suspect that for every punter winning when averaging down there are two who lose.
The advice offered by others here is not to chase the price down, to buy on the way up. Of course, easier said than done!
Consequently the the gains must be less, but so too will be the losses.
LYC has been kind to me during the speculative phases - probably more through good luck than good management.
But now it seems likely that it might be safe for the value investor to risk their money. I did, a month or so ago.
