Good posts redbacker, mitta n jan. Thanks. Log charts seem handy for visualisation of relative/proportional patterns in price movements. Though, 'tis a bit scary when you think of the wild swings in a log chart in units of dollars (or cents- making the scale not in $ or C but p$ and pC) as opposed to, say, hydrogen atom in the case of pH.. That is if you bought in or sold at the wrong place of the movement!
