What plant are you talking about? Texas will not even be started till spring 2024 it was suppose to be done end of 2022. KAL has no finishing capacity at all. Its output has to go to Lamp or Texas to be separated and turned into oxide. What facility are you talking about? Lynas has only announced plans for KAL to take Mt weld concentrate and turn it into mixed REE carbonate, not finished project. Mixed REE carbonate is what MP has be shipping to China for final processing. So Lynas could sell it to China if they wanted to. Originally KAL was supposed to have plenty of spare capacity to meat there needs for 5 ~ 10 years Recent statements make me wonder if it will even meet Lamp and Texas.
It may make lots of sense to add product finishing to KAL in the future. Cost and water may be big problems. Right now there are no announced plans. With the way some of projects are going right now , I do not think Lynas will start anything new.
