if ya can't afford a home with interest rates at these levels you not working hard enough -my first home was bought when interest rates where 17.5%---- don't cry on my shoulder,maybe forgo the second new car ,cut back the squashed avo's and coffee,cut back to three TV's etc etc and save ---yes save , no one these days will put in the hard yards so suck it up and rent.
