Japan wisely supported LYC to protect and develop the REE know-how it acquired from the self-destruction of US rare earth industry.
China did likewise and shrewdly increased research and cap.ex effort to grow into a dominant REE position.
Korean institutions now working in conjunction with ASM to rapidly develop REE and other strategic materials.
LYC being asked and subsidised by US to revive their moribund REE industry.
Emphasis should be on 'our' side of the world.
PM should be reminded to put his 'faith' in the region of the world's oldest religions and not getting too entangled in strange variety of one emanating from what is now looking like a 'failed' and unhealable US.
