The article "Challenges Lie Ahead for Rare Earths in Sweden" mentions the estimated 1M metric tons discovered in Sweden, but goes on to say the ore is low grade, facilities to process multistep processing of the ore are lacking, as is the expertise, etc. It goes on to say that of the 13% of RE ore processed outside of China, 2% is done in Estonia and the "remaining 11% is mostly produced in Malaysia by Lynas Rare Earths, Ltd."
