Supply and pricing may come into play at limiting the use of rare earths, but they are still the best technical solution for green energy vehicles, as Amanda and others in the industry have said. Do some research into the most important limiting factor for the use of Nimh batteries in these vehicles over the last couple of decades and you'll find that it was not the rare earth crisis which really only lasted a couple of years. China started imposing restrictions on supply to ROW in recent years, due to environmental concerns, but also because they need rare earths for their own projected use. All this quite recent, I wonder why? Toyota has never fully taken up Li-ion, and ditched Tesla in late 2014. Why? Do the research. I think you'll find there is a good reason backing Amanda's claim that rare earths are the best solution. I will post later on this.
