I think that the US DoD probably made these merger discussions a requirement for the Texas plant funding. How far these negotiations involve any joint venture or merging, we don’t know but would be nice to find out? The elephant in the room of course is the massive debt that MP has on its books. It’s a poison chalice for any prospective suitor. The DoD would have to fess up a pile of cash incentive to make this proposed merger in anyway attractive to Lynas.
