I'm just wondering with the PR throw away line of "and add value for shareholders".
Seeing that LYC is the biggest non-Chinese RE producer but yet still has the addiction to selling into the Chinese air conditioner market and the US may or may not really want to get back into the business of manufacturing air conditioners, then really what value are they adding to shareholders & what is the measure of this? Stock price will go back - guaranteed, dividends paid in yuan, maybe? Maybe all interested parties would be better off investing in an annual subscription to the AFR.
For a company that can appear to be very progressive, did it not occur that the market for say .... air conditioners was declining or were they only made aware of the Evergrande debacle when they were flicking through the AFR in the last week.
So you can win as many court cases as you like and pontificate how great and caring a company you are, but where exactly have you added any share holder value in the last 2 years. (Excluding your State Street major share holder who I believe is doing just fine y'all).
Get your act together. All markets are at highs and you are plummeting to lows, double headed carrots or not.
