Personally i hope this all comes to nothing as it likely will.
    Pros:
Closer ties with US improves likelihood of ongoing US govt support.
We'd effectively form a ROW monopoly.
    Cons:
We'd effectively form a ROW monopoly. Japan and especially US will want diversity of supply options so the path will be laid for new players while we'd get less support.
Do we believe in their HRE plans (they have almost none) or their magnet plans? I'd prefer to compete with MP especially as they are still way short of proving their US separation plant will work and be cost effective. Went belly up last time in less trying market conditions and far less ambitious plans.
Dilution: I'm invested in a company I believe will succeed and thrive. I'd be loath to accept dilution in return for a stake in a company I don't believe in.
US listing would be necessary. Too arduous with, effectively, 2 sets of books and regulations.
