We've had the AU govt spending 18 months dealing with a left wing referendum while people are becoming homeless, and allowing another 600,000 immigrants into the country to worsen the problem. It will take our governments months to even acknowledge this merger, if ever. Our private sector under both parties had total free hand and if Lynas became foreign owned they wouldnt bat an eye lid. They made a hoo haa months ago about supporting critical minerals and promised 22M to the industry, Hastings I think. Really, 22M. Pretty much Australian private enterprise having overseas markets have no checks and ballances. By the time our governments, either, recognise a problem many years have passed and it gets politicised with a Royal commission with little outcome and lots of lip service. Forget either of our governments. Private enterprise here is ruling the land. Iluka , lesser Hastings, is the only miner that gets air time here mostly from my observations. I dont think Amanda has to worry about who the AU prime minister even is, at any time. Since the AUKUS was formed, id suggest Lynas will be left to its own desires merging with MP.
