Thnx OMG, I just couldn't see any rational for China final processing as it runs contrary to downstream value add. Mind you Duncan has the potential to produce such significant proportions of total world Eu & Tb some of it could easily end up in China.

Can I ask if the 5 Chinese REE Scientists are ex Rhodia like Eric Noyrez or from a different background?

Wonder how many here have stopped to ponder the value of NC's China experience & connections?

Proximity to Mt Weld is a no brainer for the initial beneficiation plant: "Modelled throughput: approximately 500,000 tonnes per annum." for "Production: approximately 13,000 tonnes per annum of REO, excluding cerium."

They are not going to cart 500,000t too far for 13,000t production and it's purely a chemical process as far as I can determine, without the need for huge amounts of H20.

However it will only produce a "mixed rare earth chloride" so another LAMP will be required for separation. Obviously it would be much cheaper to do a third module at Gebeng but I guess events in Malaysia over the next year will determine that.

Still however leaves open the question of final separation of SEG & HREE unless your Chinese scientists are busy working on a LAMP module to do a full separation of the chloride.
