The impact of social media in this case has PROFOUND IMPLICATIONS FOR ALL STOCK MARKET OPERATIONS. How can any investor have confidence in an 'informed market when anyone in a court can quietly tweet and instantly cause a billion dollar market effect?
And how does any company act in this situation to protect and safeguard the the interests of its owners - surely its primary responsibility?
I don't know, and I'm pretty sure neither Lynas nor the ASX knows as well. But ASIC surely must address this strategic issue in some way.
