An article in today’s WSJ claims that Lynas spends US$10 to mine a kilo of REs against US$7 from China using figures from a consultant, James Kennedy. At least Lynas got mentioned.
The overall gist of the article is that China can produce magnets much more cheaply than can be done in the West.
